TheStar Wars: The Force Awakenstrailer, which blew up the Internet over Thanksgiving weekend, came in second with 81 million views. Trailing behind those two wereAvengers: Age of Ultron(78 million views),Jurassic World(64 million), andTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(58 million).
Now, this wasn’t entirely a fair fight.Fifty Shades of Greyhad a good four months to rack up views beforeStar Wars: The Force Awakenscame along. With that in mind, it’s impressive thatStar Wars: The Force Awakensdid as well as it did. Of the trailers in the top 20,Star Wars: The Force Awakenswas actually the last one to drop.
TheStar Wars: The Force Awakenspromo did have the biggest debut of the year, with 58.2 million views in its first 5 days. That’s almost the same numberTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesdid in nine months. Also worth pointing out isThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1is the only movie with two spots on the top 20 list.
