Star Trek Day Returns Next Month — Watch A Trailer For The Live-Streamed Event
2021 marks the 55th year of having “Star Trek” shows on the airwaves, bringing the forward-looking vision of both creator Gene Roddenberry and writers like D. C. Fontana to countless fans of all ages. Last year, Paramount+ (back when it was called CBS All Access) hostedthe inaugural Star Trek Day as a live-streaming eventonline to bring together all viewers in a retrospective celebration of all things “Trek” from the safety of their own homes. 2021 will serve as a continuation of this new tradition, falling on the anniversary of the first episode of “Star Trek: The Original Series” and taking place entirely online and providing a space for everyone to share their appreciation for the beloved, long-running sci-fi franchise. Audience appetites, real-world technology used to bring these stories to life, and even the chosen medium may have changed and evolved over time, but the longstanding vision that created “Star Trek” in the first place continues to guide the series even now.
