Cool Stuff: Pop Culture Reimagined As Little Golden Books By Joey Spiotto
There’s just something wonderful about seeing your favorite pop culture properties reimagined as something unimaginable. ArtistJoey Spiottodoes that really well.In previous years, he’s become well-known for turning pop culture properties likeFirefly, The AvengersandLostinto eye-catching album covers. Now he’s taking that tone and turning it into a full gallery exhibit by adapting properties likeBreaking Bad, Pulp Fiction, Godzilla, Guardians of the Galaxy, A Clockwork Orangeand others into children’s books reminiscent of Random House’s popular “Little Golden Books” series.
The exhibit is calledStorytime: A Little Gallery Showand it opens August 1 atGallery 1988 Eastin Los Angeles, CA. It consists of 50 properties from movies, TV, music and video games put through Spiotto’s unique children’s filter. Below, we’ve got a bunch of examples from the Joey Spiotto Gallery 1988 show.
